Here I chose 6 music videos to analyse briefly referring to the content ratio, genres, mise-en-scene, themes and if there were any inter textual references.

From this I have learnt that music videos can either be narrative (when a music video is completely a storyline), performance (where the artist/band features in the music video with a performance) or a combination of both. Also, music videos can be either illustrative (when the music video matches the lyrics), amplified (when the music video has taken a theme from the lyrics and developed it into a video based on that theme) or disjunctive (where the music video does not match the lyrics at all).
