During the planning stages of our website, we needed to learn the conventions of a website of our chosen genre. To do this we decided to split-up the home-page into 2 pages and analysis it to show what is usually on a web page above and below the fold. From doing this I have learnt that it is important to have a hero shot and a navigation bar positioned or available above the fold, whilst below the fold must include a leaderboard a consistent colour palette and when needed a button that when clicked sends you to more information about the desired subject.
By creating this analysis of website terminology it allowed me to understand the features of a website that allow it to be suited to my genre of Alternative Rock. This also allowed me to understand how to improve audience attraction to my website and the importance of each feature.
