Evaluation Question 3 – Audience Feedback

Evaluation Question 3: “What have you learned from your audience feedback?”

Task: A VoiceThread on the audience feedback you have received during production and your response(s) to that feedback.

Audience feedback was crucial to the creation of our final products. At almost every stage of the creation process, we gathered feedback. We were pleased as the majority of the feedback we received was very positive and every person we interviewed liked the fundamental properties of each media text (and enjoyed the concept of both the music video and the print productions).

In preparation for our VoiceThread, we produced a script to read whilst we recorded our voice-overs. Click on the image below to view the PDF of our script.

Overall:

In summary, the feedback we received was very helpful. Some of the key suggestions within the feedback were directly implemented into our media texts. For instance, the title of the album was altered from ‘Daze of Discord’ to ‘Fusion Reality’ after receiving feedback that the original title was not very generic to the electronic genre. The feedback was also useful in that it highlighted certain aspects that we were sceptical about. An example of this would be the slow motion shots we included in the music video. At first we were not entirely sure that the slow motion shots would contribute to the energetic nature of the music video, but we received feedback (Music Video Draft 2 – Feedback) that the slow motion shots were very effective and one of the most enjoyable aspects of the video. We learnt a lot from our audience feedback and it has allowed us to develop and improve our media texts in a positive and constructive way.
