Shoot 2 reflection (Narrative)

Our narrative performance took place in a porter cabin next to the school field. As a group we thought this was the best available place to record our narrative performance. With this we were able to get plenty of shots including close-ups, reaction shots, track shots and pans. The location and set makes it really story really easy for the people watching to understand.

What went well:

  • As a group we all contributed ideas and we all agreed allowing everything to run smoothly
  • We all prepared and all came with something useful to the shoot, this occurred because of our successful planning.
  • We used a variety of shots, for example, low/high angles, close up’s, establishing shot’s, tracking shot’s and pan’s.
  • Everyone contributed.
  • Our Mes en scene for the set was really good

Improvements

  • We were hoping for a better location but it was the only one available that was usable.
  • We wanted the location to be a bit darker.
  • A few more clips of the girl at the establishment would’ve been useful.
  • footage not being so wobbly

When it comes to next time I think we should spread the recording load because Millie did most of it because I was in the narrative. This would be a good idea because all of need to pick up the required skills. We should also give us more time to think about the locations because we don’t want to have to settle for something we aren’t the biggest fans of again.
