Finally I had to shoot from a variety of shot distances
wide range of angles
strong music choice
add more transitions
add more corridor shots walking from room to room
To summarise I have learnt that editing is crucial in order to create a cohesive video, this includes having a range of different shots, keeping the camera steady and editing in tine to the music. This is perfect preparation for your my music video production.
I used these techniques to create a sense of contunity and in order to create a flow to my video.
I have learnt to use the following continuity editing rules:
-180 degree rule:
This dictates that you should keep the camera on one side of the line of action between two people or events that are interacting on screen. This means that in the edit you can cut between the two people and they will be facing each other from opposite sides of the screen.
I used these rules to create fluidity to my video.
I have learnt to use the following tools/techniques in Premiere Pro, how to edit my video, this includes: cutting clips and cropping them with the razor tool, creating continuity with shot reverse shots, match on action and reaction shots. For example, when Jade opens the door I cut to the other side of the door and her opening it and walking through.
Again, I’ve used these tools to create a fluidity to my video and give it more of a professional look.
If I was to do this project again I would do some things differently:
-kept more concentration and control of my actors during the filming process in order for a quicker, smoother shoot
-instead of Andre and Jade sittting next to each other I would have preferred them to be on opposite sides of the table
-I would have taken a few more reactions shots for example a close up of Jade opening the door handle and used that within my video to create more drama to the scene
