Music Video Draft 1 – Rough Cut

Overall I think that our first shoot went better than our second. This is because in our first shoot we had our star in silver hooped earrings, however in our second shoot our star forgot her earrings. I feel that the earrings shaped her face and created the pop star image that we wanted. However, our second shoot gained us more footage. This is because it started to rain during the first shoot so we weren’t able to film the whole song, so we filled in the gaps in our second shoot. This was useful because we knew what lyrics weren’t lip synced well and we were able to film the whole shoot. We were also able to get a wider variety of shots which had more movement in the frame. This rough draft is important as it has made us realize what we need to improve for our final music video.

Targets:

  • Film the second half of the performance again in the correct MES
  • Add some more transitions between shots and make sure that any effects we add to the shots happen three times to signify completeness
  • Ensure that our performer knows all the lyrics, especially the rap at the end
  • Get some more movement in the frame
  • Don’t position our performer in the centre of the frame the whole time
  • Edit successfully to the beat – some clips finish too soon
