It was quite a challenge collecting clips because our camera wasn’t working… but here’s the final result

Conclusion
Concluding all of this though, It was really beneficial using the cameras again and having a proper practical go at lip-syncing. Now that Harry and I have learnt a lot and have a good amount to improve on we can now minimize the chances of any issues for our real thing and future shoots ahead.
In this task, Jack, Holly and myself picked out a random genre from a hat, and then created a montage conveying it. A montage is when you combine clips in a non specific order. It can convey a genre, and conventionally, they don’t tell a story. We shot our clips in a lesson at our school, and created a storyboard to plan out what sort of different angles, shots, and ideas we were going to include. We used adobe premiere pro for post production editing, and the DSLR cameras to shoot.
Three strengths:
1. Our editing and post production was up to good standard, we used an array of different techniques, and one of my favorite additions was the fake rain.
2. Our shots were filmed well/ quality of the clips were good which made it look more clean and professional.
3.The video conveyed the right meaning. It did the job very well and it was clear the genre was sad/lonely.
Three Weaknesses:
1. The video only featured one person, so that made it quite repetitive, and it almost told a story which we weren’t planning on doing.
2. We lacked with the amount of clips we could choose from, so we had to drag some of them out so the montage was long enough.
3. Mise-en-scene wasn’t very accurate, We should’ve made Jack look more suited for the genre chosen.
Reflection
I think this task was very enjoyable and useful especially for when we create our music video. Its allowed me to have a go at new tools on adobe premiere pro, and experimenting with video recording on the DSLR camera has made me more comfortable when using it. I also now know the sort of structure I need to have in my music video, and all the elements which will make it more successful.
