Today we went and shot our narrative shoot for our music video. We used a range of locations and a wide range of shots in order to push the narrative to the audience.
What went well?
- We got the range of shots that we needed using a range of angles
- We managed to create the office looking space within the studio by adding a table, chair and other office supplies. This gave the impression that we were in an office
- The lighting used was set up in a way that the camera doesn’t pick up any reflections from the glasses
- Costume was fitting and worked really well to convey the narrative of the piece
What could we have done better?
- We could have shot some more footage as we didn’t have enough shots to fill the rest of the music video.
- We could have used a tripod to film some of the panning shots as they were very shaky
- We needed to spend more time following the shoot plan as we just ended up shooting what we thought looked good in the moment.
targets for pickup shots:
- make and follow a shot list
- get long videos in order to have enough footage to fill empty spots in the edit
- shoot at the beach as to finish the narrative
- get shots to link both locations of narrative together
