Peer Feedback
- What type of shots have been used to create a variety of shot distances and how has the camera been used to communicate meaning?
they are all mid shots so a wider variety of shot distances and subjects is required.
- What choice of Mise en scene is appropriate for the star image and genre?
Indie rock presumably is the genre? Good costume and accessories. Could do with more images though?
- How far is the font used readable and reflects the genre?
Probably too many fonts although the ones used for the actual cover line Page 4 is probably the one most suited to the genre.
- What technical conventions of a Contents page are present and used effectively?
Not enough coverlines for the features, articles, that will appear in the magazine. Insets need captions and should be your own images.
- How has Indesign been used to layout the page to convey a brand?
The dripping paint works well for the indie, slightly cheeky vibe of the genre. But the layout is muddled at the moment and a bit sparse.
- How well have the text and visuals been integrated together?
At the moment, no real layout plan or coherency.
- Where has photoshop been used to manipulate the photos to enhance the star image or genre?
The images could do with some filters, manipulation i.e. brightening.
- How is the language used appropriately for the genre and target audience?
Difficult to judge as so few coverlines. But the short sharp coverlines works well when you read them.
5 targets:
- More cover-lines.
- Own images
- Need a page number
- Caption the insets
- More of a brand coherency with the front page needed.
Upon reflection, and after receiving feedback from my teacher and evaluating the targets set, Fist i will take on bored bran coherency and my five targets weasel as involving general conventions of magazine such as captions and sensitise etc. i als intend to insert a different image then to main star on my front page so its not all the same also meaning i dont need to use other people images.
