This is a research is all about understand why artists have social media pages and how to create an effective one. Here I analysed the artist day waves Facebook, who’s song I also used in my music video. Ive created and interactive screen castify to help me show what exactly i’m discussing.

a close analysis of a social media page
in. this task I decided to closely evaluate a SMP from a relevant artist, in this case, the artist who created the song we did our music video to. I looked at why a social media page is important for self promotion and how it can help connect to fans through the gratification theory.
Social media page draft 1
After creating the very first draft of my social media page I have marked myself in regard to the criteria, and have state the relevant examples for the content done and have made targets for the content I still need to and how to do them. this is beneficial as it allows me to step back, see what I have dome then make sure i know what i need to do in draft two to meet the criteria.

5 target for improvement to add to timeline-
- synergy – merch drop, make on PS
- promotion of live events – tour poster announcement, make on PS
- a call to action – where can you stream? eg iTunes Spotify etc.
- physical copies – star with vinyl promoting physical copies
- engagement – live stream q and a on merch, also voting poles for album release party
- also include more colors from Digi pack and music video for coherence
Marketing Timeline And Strategy
This screen castify recording was done to help me understand how and why audiences interact with a social media page. I have analysed the artist; Day Wave who is within my genre of music; indie. After analysing a real life social media page, I now know what i need to do in order to create my own.
Social Media Page Terminology
This is a slideshow whereby I have annotated a social media platform from another indie artist and how they use this platform to engage with their target audience and use their Instagram for marketing campaigns. I focused on technical conventions, for example, followers, captions and pinned posts. In addition i have annotated where the artists has raised awareness/promote there album and social issues such as trans visibility.
