Website Terminology

All of the information a fan or consumer would need is directly accessible from the home/splash page. On the home page there is his most recent music video, which promotes his music, and on the left hand side of the page there is a drop down list, including a biography, his music, tour dates and a shop to buy merchandise, all within the click of a button.

Call to action is a marketing term that refers to a piece of content intended to persuade a viewer, reader or listener to perform a specific act, in this case to listen to his music and buy his product. The fact his video is on his splash page does just this, and prompts the viewers of the site to listen to his music, therefore doing the job.

The importance of understanding the technical forms and conventions is that we don’t want to create a product that wont attract our target audience. In that sense, we need to create a website similar to Artists like SBTRKT, because we know that the audience won’t reject it. However, it is good to variate from similar artists, so that we stand out above all and create the best product, as the best product makes more money.

Flow Chart For Website

This is a flow chart I have made to explain how our website is going to work. Once loading the website, the consumer will be on the home page, which will have our music video, our digipak, and a biography of Kezra. From there, there will be a menu, in order to navigate the website, and there will be pages for Music (her other music), a Gallery of pictures, a page for her tour, which will be linked to Ticketmaster, a shop for merchandise and a Contact page. Doing a flow chart has enabled us to and to put ideas through to see what we want our website to look like as well as giving us a template to start our website with, so that we don’t forget what we initially wanted.

Our end result is shown below. I chose this template of website rather than others because it boldly shows the website your on, whilst being able to easily switch between different pages through navigation
