Below are some photos that were taken from our shoot 1 performance in the white studio. Then we also included our second shoot at the recycling centre and in town.

Evaluation of shoot 1 (performance):

White Room: I think that our shoot was successful as it allowed us to experiment with different angles, the lighting worked well for clear bright shots. We were prepared with the equipment we brought with us and had two outfits so that we could experiment with the star image. Having this coverage allowed us to convey our star image in a different location with the urban industrial settings and the trendy mise-en-scene such as patterns and neon clothing.

The Recycling Centre and Town:

We also experimented and had more tracking shots and extreme long shots as we had a larger area and could use the space better. This allowed us to see the movements of the star and a bit about her personality. However, in town, our performer had a scrunchie on her wrist, which takes away from the narrative and the meaning of the shot. Next time we will make sure hairbands aren’t being used on our wrists.

Targets for pickups / new shoot:

  • Allowing more time for makeup and preparation
  • Saving more time for filming – planning how to get from place to place
  • steadier panning and tilt shots
  • Using more props
  • More variety of shots as we had a lot of mid shots
  • Next time focus on a steady aerial shot looking down (instead of the camera shaking)
