Initial song ideas for a video

The song I have selected to pitch is Bruises by Lewis Capaldi, I have chosen to select this song because there is a raw and brilliant meaning behind the song. The song is about heartbreak and then reflecting on the relationship after it has ended. The bruises are from the pain of not being in the relationship anymore.

Lyrics for Bruises:

Counting days, counting days
Since my love up and got lost on me
And every breath that I’ve been takin’
Since you left feels like a waste on me
I’ve been holding on to hope
That you’ll come back when you can find some peace
‘Cause every word that I’ve heard spoken
Since you left feels like a hollow street

I’ve been told, I’ve been told to get you off my mind
But I hope I never lose the bruises that you left behind
Oh my Lord, oh my Lord, I need you by my side

There must be something in the water
‘Cause every day, it’s getting colder
Well if only I could hold you
You’d keep my head from going under
Maybe I, maybe I’m just being blinded
By the brighter side
Of what we are because it’s over
Well, there must be something in the tide
I’ve been told, I’ve been told to get you off my mind
But I hope I never lose the bruises that you left behind
Oh my Lord, oh my Lord, I need you by my side
There must be something in the water
‘Cause every day, it’s getting colder
Well if only I could hold you
You’d keep my head from going under
Your love I’m lost in
It’s your love I’m lost in
Your love I’m lost in
And I’m tired of being so exhausted
It’s your love I’m lost in
Your love I’m lost in
Your love I’m lost in
Even though I’m nothing to you now
Even though I’m nothing to you now
There must be something in the water
‘Cause every day, it’s getting colder
Well if only I could hold you
You’d keep my head from going under
There must be something in the water
‘Cause every day, it’s getting colder
Well if only I could hold you
You’d keep my head from going under
Here is a wordcloud I have created with words associated with the song:

Narrative:

The story is about a boy coming to terms with his most recent breakup, There are objects so simple such as a jumper that remind the boy of the girl who once loved him. We slowly see him physically and mentally get worse, the boy never gets over the breakup, he just learns to accept it.

Description of the performance:

The performance will be only the artist and in some shots a piano player – either onstage or outside on location. It will have a ratio of 75% Narrative and 25% Performance, this is because I want the audience to get as much out of the narrative as possible
