A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together

with two of the following three options:

  • a website homepage for the band;
  • a cover for its release as part of a digipak (CD/DVD package);
  • a magazine advertisement for the digipak (CD/DVD package).

My partner and I chose to use the song, “Greek Tragedy”, by The Wombats to film the music video for. The song is about the male star and his feelings towards the female performer. He is desperately in love with her, however he is aware that the relationship is becoming toxic and unhealthy due to her lack of respect towards him. Despite this, he chooses to stay with her as he believes he will be worse off without her. The song and video contain themes of toxicity, passion and unrequited love.

The Wombats are an indie band, however we did not want to include a whole band within our video, and so we had to change the name of the star because we have presented him as a solo artist. We chose, “5.AM” as it is a play on words with the name “Sam”, yet has an edgy, unique ring to it which suits the indie genre well.
