Timeline and Marketing ideas

We created a timeline of posts we are going to upload on our social media page for our artist. It was planned in chronological order so that we had a clear idea on what was best to include and where so that the timeline of events made sense. It is important that an audience can socially interact with the artist and also so that the artist can show their fans their personal identity. Their social media page is also used for promoting products associated with their brand and also as a marketing tool. With an ever-growing fan base, it is important for the star to make the page attractive, grab interest, find the desire and also the call to action. These features will make a social media page conventional and successful.

The posts on our social media page will include; teasers, merchandise information, tour posters and upcoming gig events and promotions.

Social Media Page Terminology

Harry Styles is an artist in a similar genre to mine, I found his Facebook page and annotated some of the key features on it. By understanding what is included in many of artists’ social media platforms I understand the technical conventions. Some of the key conventions which I have picked up on and are included in every social media page is:

Header Image– this is an image of the artist that is placed at the top of a page displaying them and their brand.

About Section-A place where the audience can find information about the artist.

Page Followers– external viewers can see who is following this particular person and also how many people are following them.

There are also many other conventions which are consistent through an artists social media page such as; hashtags, pin to top, bio, comment, engagement etc. Social media is also used a marketing campaign, so the audience can access what the artist is showing within their brand. These are all included in order to reach the target audience and to promote their brand to their audience.
