In this task I carried out some deeper analysis of two music video. The first one I analysed was Chained to the Rhythm by Katy Perry.

From this task I have learnt how important camera, mise-en-scene and editing are in communicating my artist’s star image and also communicating the narrative.

When I am creating my own music video this research and analysis will be helpful as I can decide if I want my video to be performance or narrative based or maybe both. I will also now think about my star’s image and how I can portray them as extraordinary yet relatable. I will need to consider my MES, camera and editing carefully in order to communicate my narrative and portray my star in the best way possible.
