The Dark Knight is a superhero movie, so therefore it follows similar archetypes which are present in other superhero movies. however, in parts of the movie, it sways away from the archetypes and story ring and some points are hard to pick out as the story peers away from the ring structure at times. An example of this is at the end of the movie when Batman becomes the villain. This is surprising to see as we don’t normally see the hero end the story in a crisis and has lost, because we normally see the hero win and is accomplished by the end, however, the hero feels guilty and unaccomplished.
