Rough Cut – Performance – Feedback

Once we had uploaded our rough cut of our performance to YouTube we received a few comments informing us what we did well and what things can be changed/improved. This allows us to get an understanding of how the music video is coming along. The YouTube comments consist of elements such as camera movement, angles and distances, editing to the beat, lip syncing, mise-en-scene such as costume and setting, and lighting.

An audience member said ‘there are some very long takes of the performance’. In our next draft, we will make sure that we shorten the clips or put narrative over some of it so that the shots aren’t so long to create an authentic music video.

Someone else added ‘colours of the performance for example saturation’. In the following draft, we will play around with the saturation and RGB levels of the performance shots to add more definition and so that our editing is consistent throughout.
