As well as creating a front cover, content page and double page spread for my magazine. I also have to find two full page adverts which has to go into my magazine. I should be looking for adverts that will fit my genre that my magazine is however keeping in mind that it has to appeal to my target audience.

I chose an Ariana Grande tour poster and an X Factor audition poster as Ariana is a pop singer which fits perfectly with the genre of my magazine and the x factor poster is all about finding the perfect singer which comes into pop. I used my dating profile which I created to help me pull in and attract my target audience and I think that both these adverts fit my narrative.

• Add a different colour to text of the content to make it more appealing

• Add in extra lines to make it more appealing

• Delete all text on the left hand side of models head 
• Make the quote ‘Its an essential role to being a famous singer’ bigger 

Content pages are used to direct and guide the reader to certain content which they would like to read about. By using this the reader can easily flip through pages to go to exactly what they’re interested in making this efficient as they hook and intrigue the reader.

Below is my newly improved feature article for my double page spread. I have improved this article by altering a couple of sentences e.g adding a tour date and a chance to get free tickets to concerts and changing the name of the community of fans for Laura to ‘Angels’ as it suits the theme more.

• Dont overuse the mini pink clouds
• Spacing between ‘Angel musician’ and ‘Spirals into her destiny’ are not the same 
• Need to delete hyphens at the side of the page 
• Move the text further to the right to avoid the crease of the page 
• Dont centre the text (alignment)

My success criterias for my next draft are

• Format certain text so that they’re all aligned symmetrically 
• Add more detail to my front cover and contents page 
• Add different colours to my DPS

Below is my newly improved contents page.

I have changed the colour of the background to yellow and changed the colour of the title to a lighter pink as I think that this fits better with the star models pink dress. I have also added a few pink clouds to give the pop vibe effect to the reader of the magazine and have changed the positioning of the text.

To improve I think that the heading could have been changed so that it was more visible.

Below is my first draft of my contents page for my music magazine

What went well:

• The colour choice of the background is suited for my genre which is pop and pink connotes love , harmony and affection
• The chosen image of my star model is also suited for the page as the model is wearing jewelry and is holding the sunglasses in her hands which portrays her as a posh and wealthy person

What I Need to improve:

• I think that the columns of text could be positioned in different places to make it seem more like a contents page eg. shorter and smaller writing and speech bubbles
• The heading ‘contents’ could be changed to another name to make the magazine unique 
• I want to make my model bigger and less stretched out 

Targets:

• Change positioning of the columns 
• Alter the size of my model
• Change the colour of the heading 
• Add page numbers
• Add more pictures of other celebrities

Whats New

• Replaced the ‘xxx’ with the complete article
• Added page numbers to the bottom 
• Added the title to the left side of the double page 
• Cut out pink clouds from InDesign and pasted into the page

All of these changed were made to improve the quality of the double spread and to give it a more vibrant and pop vibe.
