I have drafted an interview for my double-page spread and used the sheet below to help me plan.

“A New Life”  Interview with Zoe Carre

All that’s been spoken about recently is the 23 year old, internet sensation Zoe C. As a teen, at just 18 years of age Zoe set up her own Youtube Channel where she would upload videos of her singing the music from her favourite artists Whitney Houston, Britney Spears and The Spice Girls. After 5 years of hard work and practising it led to her writing her very own song called ‘All It Takes”, her new hit single has reached number 1 in the charts, which is a huge achievement in itself. Being as young as 23, Zoe is going to have great opportunities coming her way. After years of singing her dreams of being a 90’s pop star was well underway, and that this was just the beginning.

I managed to sit down with Zoe myself and ask her a few questions about her new life as a young female singer and what inspired her to write her own music. For all the desperate fans out there, the wait is concluded as I will be bringing you the latest information. So, without further ado I welcome Zoe Carre.

  • How has your life changed now you are in the public eye?

“Well, just simply walking to the shop I get noticed. I hear my name being shouted and people trying to take pictures of me, it’s absolutely crazy and a bit scary at the same time as people know where I am and try to follow me around, so I really don’t feel like I have much privacy anymore which does give me slight anxiety. So I do try and avoid going out on my own, I feel much safer when I’m with a family member or a friend”.

  • When was the first time you got recognised in public?

“The first time I got recognised was when I was in my local town in Manchester. I was with my boyfriend and a group of young people approached me and asked if I would take a picture with them, of course I did and they were so lovely. However it’s still very surreal to me that I am now others Idol’s, as I still have them myself!’.

  • What will we be seeing from you in the near future?

“Well, at the moment I’ve only created 1 song, but hopefully when I have written more then I would love to create an album. I have always dreamed of singing on stage at my own tour so this is my next goal for the future. It would definitely be a huge achievement and I’m going to work towards it”.

  • What advice would you give others who are wanting to become songwriters?

“For me, I engaged in something that was my passion and what I wanted my songs to relate to. In this case it was that lifted the spirits of others and made them happy. Once you find something you can express your feelings to, the lyrics will come naturally to you. This can either be passed experiences or even dreams of yours that you can make become real through the love and passion of songwriting. You need to really be in the moment. The key is to not think too much into it or overthink it otherwise you will be constantly changing it when actually it probably will be perfect the way it is.

  • Who inspired you to become a singer?

“I’ve always had a passion for singing, I’m always listening to music whatever I’m doing. But my favourite singer is Whitney Houston and she was the one that inspired me to put my voice out there and write my own music. Personally, I find her songs very meaningful and I hold them close to my heart, so when I wrote my own song ‘All It Takes’, I made sure the lyrics I choose represented confidence, happiness and resilience, as these are the things that inspired me to write my own song and I hope that this song can inspire others to do what makes them happy.”

MP3 RECORDING

I have recorded myself reading out my first article as it will be useful for me to listen back and notice any mistakes or changes that need to be made.
