Here I analyzed four music videos on their content being their narrative and performance. I used this to decide what type of video I wanted to do and understand how performance and narrative is used well in a music video. I further explained the videos in the word document above.

In future, I can use these skills used in these videos in order to create my video up to their professional standard.
I created a mini pitch for an idea for my music video. I included a word board, the lyrics and a brief of what the video will have in it.
I will use this to bring my idea to the group where will will share our pitches in order to decide on a final pitch which we will use for our music video. this will help with the narrative for the music video and describe our MES, location and editing needed for our music video. It outlines the theme and acting that will be used in the video.
We were tasked to create a montage video based off a random topic given to us, ours being the phrase “curiosity killed the cat”. We started off with making a story board of our 4 scenes, each of which contained 4 shots, where we wrote the camera angles we would need to film and an image to show what was going on in that shot.
We then filmed the video using a DSLR camera to record it on a tripod to keep it stable. We them proceeded to edit it on premier pro adding effects and putting it all together, then uploading it on YouTube.
Strengths
Good cuts between shots and scenes.
Good directing of the actors.
Good range of shots.
Weaknesses
Focus was off in a few scenes.
Could have used more camera movement.
Could have used more close ups and zooms.
In conclusion I learnt how to create a montage and understand Adobe Premier better. I also learnt how to produce a story board and direct actors and create scenes and shots, and capturing them with relevant cinematography.
Before starting on my music video I decided to do a textual analysis of a professionals music video. This was in order to fully understand the key features and methods used so that I can use the information in making my own.

After the analysis I understood a lot more about the key mise en scene needed for a good rock video. It helped me figure out more about their use of camera for meaning in their videos and how to link it in with the music through the editing. I now also understand how to create a much better star image in rock.
