Teacher Feedback

Introduction:

To make further progress on our music video we got some feedback from our teacher to get his opinion of what we have done well so far and what we can do to improve.

Summary of feedback:

After listening to the feedback we created a summary of the key things we did well and what things we need to work on to improve our music video.

From the feedback we took some positives out of it which included having a good narrative, nice montages and good intro and jump cuts. The jump cuts were were a good feature to the video as is gives a sense of contrast and breakdown. This was helpful to know as we now know what we did well which gave us more confidence in our work. These decisions will all be made to make sure the audience react in the way we wanted them to.

However there were some improvements to be made which included some shots being too long, changing the sequencing of some shots, using colour correction and using more montage shots.

Targets for development:

  • Sort out the sequencing of our shots as some aren’t in order of what is happening. When they aren’t in order we need to make it clear that they are flashbacks.
  • Change the lengths of some shots as they are too long so need to use more of a variety of shots.
  • Make sure the montages are fit too the pace of the beat to create more impact.
  • Some of the lip syncing is out of time at some parts so need to sort that out.
  • Try use more montages as they look good so far and fits well with the beat of the song.
