For this task I had to do a detailed analysis of two music videos. I chose to do an analysis of Kodaline – Love Like This and A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera – Say Something.

In my analysis of the music videos I looked at many different features, such as what narrative the music video had. Whether it had an Illustrative, Amplified or Disjunctive narrative. Furthermore I also looked closely at what made the video connect with the audience, whether it be through breaking the 4th wall between the performer and the audience or through enigma codes.

Overall I think that this task has proved to be very useful and has helped with my understanding of what makes a successful music video.
