To make sure our digipak photoshoot was organized and safe, we planned who would bring what and put it on a document that everyone involved could see so that there is no confusion. We also spoke about possible risks, there weren’t many as we were staying within/ near the school premises. We then discussed how these risks could be reduced.
We designed our inner and outer covers to our digipak so we could get an idea of what it would all look like when put together. This task was good for us to gain a better understand of how we wanted to portray our star image on the digipak. We wanted to link it to the song as most album songs relate to each other in some way however, we didn’t want to base it purely off that song as it isn’t only ‘Skin’ in the album. Therefore, we related the inner covers to the similar cottage core aesthetic, and although the outer to are also linked to that aesthetic they’re also quite different.
This task allowed me to see what the convention were for pop genre digipaks. Not only did I look at this one shown, I looked at wide variety so that allowed to see what was conventional and what was unique. It helped me gain ideas for our digipak.

Overall we are proud of our settings, mes en scene and range of shots and I think our peers would agree. However we still have things to edit such as:
After a lot more planning for this shoot, we chose a different setting and a reason as to why our star doesn’t like her body. After watching back the videos from this shoot, we realised we’d made the right decision to re-do our narrative as these clips were a lot better and clear as to what the narrative is. Although is some shots the lighting could have been a little bit better, we were pleased with the range of MES EN SCENE we used.

In one of our lessons, two men from specsavers within the media sector came in to help us and give us suggestion relating to our music video and editing techniques.
Creating this padlet allowed us to gain ideas for how we are going to portray our star image. When doing this research we were able to see how the different artists were represented by their style, genre and integrated portfolio.
This task has made me realize the importance of how we portray our artists brand. We know who our target audience is and from that we have looked at how we are going to make sure our digipak is suitable and attractive. It is important we make the colours, narrative, wording, etc interesting so that our audience don’t ‘reject the text.’ Our mission statement indicates the youthfulness of the artist and her kindness.
Filling out this risk assessment sheet allowed us to think about any potential risks that may occur during out shoot 2. For any risks there were, we worked out how we would overcome these/ make them as safe as possible.
This task has really helped to keep us organized with the shoot. We shared it with everyone involved in the process so that we can all look at it and see who is responsible for what and what’s happening. Looking through it, we will be able to see if we have forgotten and props, clothing, etc.
