Media Ecology
This is my photographic example of a lego ‘system’ (natural or manmade) with elements, ingredients that all rely on each other to function.
Heres how the system works.
If you look to the far left, this is the person that manufactures parts for a building. Then the person just next to them on the right in the pink puts them on the boat to be delivered. Then the person below her with the lever pulls and that opens the bridge and the captain of the boat sails to a different land. Then once the ship has arrived the person in grey takes the parts for the building and puts it on a persons truck. While the truck is being loaded you can see Yoda filling up the petrol for the truck and then the man driving it delivers the parts to the house on which is being built. Then finally the builders use those parts to build a house for the man on the wake board. All of these things show the system of ecology and how people work together and help each other as a community to get jobs done.
Ideas about the role of the government in the world of media.
- Firstly I think that the role of the government should be to take more responsibility and monitor all the bad stuff that gets put on social media and take stuff down when necessary.
- The government need to stop fake news and have more control so people know whats real and so they are not mislead. Especially in terms of the current situation of Carona virus and the rules on which it follows.
Audience is important in media ecology as us as a community consume so much text through social media that we are becoming producers of media ecology just by consuming and reading the things we see online.

Two positive contributions of digital technology to the world of media are
- that you can post what you have been up to a share it with your friends and family.
- You can easily access entertainment on youtube or any platform for free.
Two negative contributions of digital technology to the world of media are
- Hackers who can change peoples accounts and take their stuff.
- False news because know one knows whats real or fake.
Hello Media Studies
Right now my organisation skills are adequate and my Time management seems to be fine but throughout the year I would like my organisation skills too improve.
My research skills are decent but would definitely look to enhance them and develop this skill. My creative skills at the moment are quite good but there is still room for improvement.
My transferable skills are good right as I already have experience in basic Photoshop skills and basic editing skills and I also know a bit about computers. I want to achieve to create posters, make designs and hopefully make a music video, whilst working on my camera and computer skills. I’m also friendly so I have good social skills and I did GCSE music which will help me in doing the posters for our future project.
I am a media prosumer
Media is great its exciting and fun and it can help express an artists individual skills and it lets other people view there work. As a community we consume a lot of media throughout our daily lives.
Here in this college you can see and understand the types of media that I consume.
I personally consume: Music, Films, TV shows, Social media and even video games. I use Youtube around 2 hours a day, Youtube has consumers who use their product daily as its a great source of entertainment and information just by the click of a button. I also find I consume Netflix and video games on my Xbox, these being my main sources of media consumption. I also tend to listen to Music for entertainment either when working, travelling or practicing. For my personal identity and social interaction I usually consume Instagram and Whatsapp mostly for more than 3 hours a day. For education and Information I consume Youtube and google chrome, this could be for work or just at home to find something out.
Here are some more reasons why I use the media.

In this Course and by the end, I will work and expand on my media skills. I will learn and understand how the media works and how to develop on skills such as Photoshop and film editing. Learning about how the media works will help me to create my next upcoming project which is a Music Magazine. By looking at the posters and the media on this college it is clear to me that I will need to make my Music Magazine attentive, bright, fun, informative and eye catching so that it stands out. This Magazine will need to connect to my viewers and it should reinforce their own identity, this making my Magazine more popular and more appealing to the viewers needs and wants. Towards the end of the course I will hopefully become a better media producer and I really hope to make something creative and fun in the near future.
