In order to be able to add sound to our thriller we used a different software called audacity. On this software we were able to combine the two songs (MP3 files) and make them fade in and out to each other. We also added dramatic sound effects for the main title to bring emphasis on it.
Here’s some explanations on the tools you can use in audacity
These tools are the basic tools that are easy to access when on the main screen of audacity. The first one ( the scissors) is a cutting tool which and split the track in to pieces.
The next two icons are copy and paste tools. To use them you have to highlight the area you want to copy and press the first button (the two pieces of paper) then put the mouse in the place in the track you’d like to put it and then press the clip board icon to paste it.
The last two are also very similar, they both make part of the track to silence. Depending on which icon you press depends which part of the music becomes silent. The first icon leaves the highlighted area still in the track but makes everything else silent. The last one makes the highlighter area silent and leaves everything else as they were before.
This tool is used to change the volume of track. You can move the blue icon to how loud or quite you’d like the track to become.
You can make a echo effect by using this tool. You are able to change the time between the echos and how long after the original sound effect the start.
This is the reverb effect. Reverberation is very similar to echos but an echo is just a sound repeating after the original. A reverb effect is when the sound reflects off the walls so becomes quieter and take longer to reach the listener.
