Reflection: These are the masthead designs I’ve made. They’re all possible choices for my magazine and I’m planning to use the top font for my masthead.

Here is the first draft of my double page spread:

Reflection: This is a draft of my double page spread, at the moment I’ve used placeholder text on the second page. I’m more focused on the layout rather than the text because I can do it in a  future magazine.

Here is my second contact sheets from my second photoshoot:

Reflection: Every photo I took from that shooting is included in these contact sheets. I needed shots for a double page spread in my magazine, so I made my model look like a rapper for this session. We ran a trial-and-error experiment with several types of stances and face impressions to find what looks best for the rap genre.

Reflection: This is my plan for my photo shoot with my model, and this is how I want him to look for my photo shoot. We need them to have a decent costume in order for them to look like a rapper; otherwise, the target audience possibly might not realize it’s about rapping and may not be interested in the magazine since it doesn’t look traditional.

My Contents Page Examples, Some Design ideas of My Own and Five Catchy Headlines:

Reflection: A contents page is a page where it helps the reader find what is inside the magazine. You’ll mainly use it to the to find a topic of interest to you. They are hugely important in helping the reader navigate and understand the text they are reading.

This is my Google Slides about content pages in a magazine.  I first found some examples so I could get a good idea on what the possible layouts I could use in my own contents page for my magazine. Then I drew some draft layouts on paper to plan what layout I’m going to use. Finally I thought of five catchy headlines to give attraction for my audience.

As you can see on slide 2 made some contents tables with numbers, the numbers are supposed to be page numbers. This is because the reader will find it easier to navigate their way around to the content that will give them the entertainment they want.

Here is my plan for my next photoshoot:

Reflection: This is my plan for my photoshoot with my model, this is exactly how I want my model to look like for my photoshoot. We need them to have a good costume in order to look like a rapper, it is very important otherwise the target audience may not have a clue that it is about rapping and may not be interested in the magazine due to the fact it doesn’t look conventional.

Reflection: In this task I had to research a star in a specific genre which I chose to be rap. The person I chose was Polo G, this is because I enjoy his music and he is young and has a lot of self confidence in himself. You can also see on slide 2 that Polo G cares about others and wants to make society a better place. He is a very extraordinary rapper because he speaks about his truthful storytelling in his songs.

Polo G also seems to be very rich due to the fact in his song “RAPSTAR” he said that he made 2000 a minute but he doesn’t only use the money on himself to satisfy his own needs, we know this because when he is not recording he is an ordinary person and bought his mum and nan their own house. He has the conventions of a rapper because he has a chain, bandanna and dreadlocks.
