Video Narrative Story/Shot Sheets

Introduction:

In this task we had to create a storyboard of different scenes in our narrative. We chose the four main scenes in our narrative and then annotated them with the shots we are going to use as well as descriptions of different angles, distances and movements. This will ensure that we have enough footage and a variety of shots to show off our narrative.

Reflection:

This story board task was very helpful as it gave us a better knowledge of exactly what our narrative is and what different shots we may use for it. It clearly shows the costumes well as well as the props we are using. This shows us exactly what we want to complete/achieve during our day of shooting.  This ensures that we have a variety of shot, enough coverage and are able to portray the narrative. Todorov’s Theory was helpful to know when completing this task as it helped us to know the beginning, middle and end of our story. It also helped us to thing about the build up of climax up to the main event and the result of restoration at the end when everything is solved.
