This question involved me having to research into how my magazine would engage with the audience and how it would be distributed in the real world.

CCR3 – HOW DID YOUR PRODUCTION SKILLS DEVELOP THROUGHOUT THIS PROJECT?
For this question, I had to explain to a future student who was thinking about doing the media course, about all the production skills that I have already learnt just on the first half of the course. Below is my voice thread and slide share of this so it can be visually seen how these have progressed throughout this project.
CCR1– HOW DOES YOUR PRODUCT USE OR DEVELOP CONVENTIONS AND HOW DOES IT REPRESENT SOCIAL GROUPS OR ISSUES?
CCR4 HOW DID YOU INTEGRATE TECHNOLOGIES (SOFTWARE, HARDWARE AND ONLINE) IN THIS PROJECT?
HELLO MEDIA STUDIES
During my two year course, studying Media A Level, I wish to learn more of the topic “Media” as a whole, from being a Media Consumer to enhancing my knowledge of creating new Media with photoshop etc..
From a first glance at the subject, it is clear to me that I shall learn many new skills over the duration of the course. This is very important to go into my lessons with an open mind about learning, listening and joining in groups work and discussions, especially while using difficult new software that is technical to use, however impressive to work places. Some of the skills that I wish to better are :
- Planning
- Organisation
- Communication
- Collaboration
These skills will put into action during the making of my Magazine cover in Component 1 and the producing of a Music video in Component 3. However, also time management on a day to day basis, ensuring my blog is up to date and I am keeping on track with the work being set as this was a weaker link for me in my GCSE’S. One of the main reasons I chose to do Media, was to help keep my Creative mind active, as I enjoy testing my brain and coming up with new ideas. By doing all of this, and transferring skills that I used while at GCSE level, I hope to create Media that is:
- Enjoyable
- Informative
- Social
- Shows Personal identity
I AM A MEDIA PROSUMER
In my Media Bubble, I included my personal preferences to the different Medias that I often use day to day . By showing different images of the media that is embedded in my life, shows a personal identity, which differs to everyone’s personal media interests. There are many different forms of Media, with only a small range being in my media bubble, these include:
- Tv shows
- Social media
- Music streaming services
- Magazines
- Podcasts/Radios
- Ect…
At first glance when you think of Media, your mind will go straight to Entertainment, however there are many different aspects of media that should be included to get the best final product. These are:
- Entertainment
- Social Interaction
- Personal Identity
- Information/Surveillance.
By showing a wide range of these four key points in my Media bubble, it shows I have a further knowledge of just how important they are. Using this new understanding of the topic, I hope that the Media I create during the course is adapted well to the correct audience, however fresh and interesting.
After looking in depth at the Media I personally am interested in, it helped me to realise that in my Magazine cover should be bright and stand out as Media consumers are attracted to this, if the front cover was plain an dull, there wouldn’t be as many sales due to the lack of initial interest in the magazine. I also think targeting a certain audience for the magazine is important, as if you try to please too many people at once it could go down hill and end up impressing few people. I would like to help reinforce the readers personal identity, and easily help them to realise what style they like, but also give them opportunities to interact socially.
