Music Video Conventions

This is a Music video Content Analysis sheet which we did to find out about different music videos and analysed the Mise-en-scene and the impact/ appeal of the videos. There are a lot of different impacts that music videos have on their target audiences.

From this piece of work I found out that many songs have music videos that don’t have much to do with the song itself. Further more, I found out that some music videos are 100% narrative or 100% performance which I had never looked into before. Therefore, as long as the music video is filmed well then the amount of narrative and performance does not completely matter. Although, it is good to have a mixture of both narrative and performance.
