So… I am ready to photograph my star.

“Tutti-Frutti” is a magazine that aims to help you to relive your 1950’s dreams by taking you back to the world of Rock and Roll music and bringing back memories of your favorite hits. We want to bring the community of Rock and Roll together by including fun facts about famous artists as well as competitions and quizzes to keep you learning more about the best music ever made.

Brand Value

“Tutti-Frutti” aims to take you back to the 1950’s and help you to discover more of music you enjoy in a fun and original way.

The importance of mis-en-scene

  • costume
  • lighting
  • acting and proxemics
  • make-up and hair
  • props
  • setting

When shooting my model I will take into account how to direct my model on how she needs to pose to effectively portray my genre, and how to use props to attract my target audience. Mis-en-scene helps me to convey and illustrate my narrative and send a clear message to my audience.

Things I need to know about my Camera:

  • shutter speed
  • aperture
  • framing
  • distance
  • shot type
  • angle

Knowing how to use a camera I will be able to take good quality photos to display clear ideas for my magazine.

I also learnt about Richard Dyer’s Paradox of the Star theory which explains that an artist can be both extraordinary and ordinary and both absent and present, helping their fans relate to them and help capture their audience’s attention. Stuart Hall’s Reception Theory helps to present an audience’s response, also helping the artist discover their target audiences demographic and psychographic. This information helps me to understand how important it is to convey that my star can be related to so that my magazine will be popular among ordinary my audience.
