Narrative Sequence

Storyboard:

In order to understand how to film videos to create a narrative sequence on our digital technology with have created a storyboard using a variety of different shots e.g match on action, cut to close ups, long shot, mid shot, peds and pans, to tell the story of someone getting changed for work. Each post it note shows a different shot we will be filming within the sequence allowing us to have a plan so the shoot runs smoothly and effectively.

Our Sequence:

Evaluation:

What Went Well:

  • The narrative seuqence made sense allowing the audience to follow the story throughout, continuity editing done well.
  • We used a variety of different shots to help keep the sequence intresting and from different perspectives.
  • When editing our sequence we use premier pro to edit the shots keep the transitions smooth as well as changing transitions to show more skills.
  • We layered music over the video which has a relation to the storyline as well as helping to keep the video intresting engaging the audience.

What We Could Have Done Different:

  • Some of the shots could have been more steady therefore we could have used the tripod more effectively when shooting.
  • When our actor was putting on the jacket the 180 rule is slightly broken possibly confusing the audience.
  • Lighting could be better in some clips as well as possibly using an even wider variety of clips to showcase our skills even more.

As we have now filmed our own narrative sequence with our digital technology using different shots, will enable us to know basic skills when it comes to filming our own music videos helping to produce higher quality work.
