Music Video – Moodboard

We have now began the planning process in which we started to find a song that we’d personally like to create a music video to and focusing on the synesthesia of the song. From this, we had to create a mood board that would express the types of ideas I had for the music video such as the mise-en-scene.

I chose the song ‘We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off’ by Ella Eyre who is a British pop artist. In the mood board, I have included images that relate to the narrative I was thinking of. Along with this, other elements were considered such as the setting, costume and props. This has allowed me to understand the conventions when it comes to having to create my own music video.

This is the song I have chosen:

We were then put into groups of 3 and we each discussed our individual ideas.

Here is Viki’s song that she chose:

Viki’s idea was to create a music video that included the consequences of alcohol addiction mixing in with themes of relationships and love. Her intention was to portray a significant and important message to the audience and especially those who have had past or current experiences with this. The song she has chosen ‘Fallout’ is performed by an Indie Pop/Rock band called ‘Catfish And The Bottlemen’.

This is Beth’s song choice:

Beth’s idea included a few similar themes to Viki’s idea that was love and relationships. However, Beth wanted to incorporate the theme of domestic violence within a relationship as she had clearly listened to the lyrics and wanted to create an amplified music video. The song she has chosen ‘What Is Love’ and is covered by Jaymes Young.
