In this task we analysed a magazine cover and labelled it with the appropriate technical conventions. As you can see from above these include; plug, masthead, pug, captions, main cover star, cover lines, inset, main cover line, issue/date, price and barcode. We did this so we that we could learn about the typicalities and expectations of a magazine cover. It is important to understand the basic rules of the layout for a magazine cover because when we come to making our own magazine we will know what rules we need to follow when creating it to optimize sales and reach our target market.
