Music Video – Shoot Evaluation – Narrative

Me and Leonie filmed our narrative, the filming went well and we got all the shots we needed. On the day we took our preparation sheets with us, the most helpful of which was the storyboard as it made sure we got all the shots we needed quickly allowing us more time to experiment with shot distances. This also meant that we got shots that fit in the narrative and between the performance shots.

High points of the day

  • We planned well and ended up getting all the shots we needed
  • The mise-en-scene looked effective
  • We managed to get more shots than initially planned
  • We made sure to get extra close ups which will effectively make the audience feel more involved in what they’re watching
  • We used more than one camera which allowed us to shot multiple shots at once

Targets for future filming

  • Plan out lighting earlier
  • Consider continuity editing
  • Bring extra batteries or a spare camera
