Superhero Analysis

Batman challenges some general superhero archetypes as he is quite controversial.

      • Weakness – Batman’s weakness is his psychological trauma from the past, specifically involving his parents and their death.
      • Powers – Unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any inhuman superpowers. He does, however, possess a genius-level intellect, is a peerless martial artist, and his vast wealth affords him an extraordinary arsenal of weaponry and equipment.
      • Appearance – Batman’s costume is used to conceal his identity, protect himself, and frighten criminals. Most versions of the Batsuit incorporate some form of body armor, powered exoskeleton, “wingsuit”-cape, built-in augmented reality computer, night-vision, gas filters, and other aids for protection or effectiveness in combat.
      • Motives/Intentions – Batman’s motivation for what he does is to eradicate crime or at the very least, catch criminals and bring them to justice. This drive was started by the murder of his parents. Ever since he has decided to strike fear into those who prey on the fearful.
