Advert – Digital Mock Up

After having drawn our ideas for our advert, we created a digital mock up which you can see below. I think this was particularly useful because we became more aware of the spacing and positioning. We decided we would have the bottle upright instead of tilted like on the digi-pack. however you can see the clear links with the digi-pack which is evidently vital in the marketing process.

Advert – Drawn Mock Up

When we were contemplating the design of our advert we drew a rough sketch which you can view below. From researching the conventions of a advert we knew a variety of items we should include and we knew that it would typically have a distinct relation to the digi-pack. Therefore we were quite easily able to design our advert from the ideas on our digi-pack.

Digi-Pack Feedback

After having constructed our digital mock ups, we asked one of our peers to give us some feedback, which you can watch below.

From this feedback we can see that James feels our typography doesn’t quite work, as the album title and artists last name is the same, where the artists first name it different. He really seemed to like the visual design of our digi pack, the black and white contrasts of the inside and outside, which we are really pleased to hear, as it reflects the music videos content.

Overall our ideas seem both creative and achievable and we look forward to creating it.

Digipack Digital Mock Up

Once we had draw up our ideas for our digipack, we decided to make a digital version, to really get a feel of how our product would look. Below you can see what we created.

As you can see have chosen a very distinctive look, the broken glass is meant to represent the broken foundations of their relationship. We have chosen the outside covers to have a black background whereas the inside covers have white. This reflects the visual design of our music video, and is really quite striking.

Digipak Drawn Mock Up

After having considered various ideas, we drew all the covers for our digipak, which you can view below:

We are planning to go for this surreal look, using bottle to make it seem as though this girl is trapped in this forest area. The front cover represents the fall is their relationship, and her feelings of hopelessness and isolation. The inside left cover will include a hand letting go of the bottle, to symbolize how the relationship has been broken.

Digipack Moodboard

To start forming some ideas about our digipack, we created a Pinterest page which we have filled with images of typography, colour schemes and pictures that we think would work with our genre and our music video. You can see this by clicking the link below.

Follow Georgia’s board Digipack on Pinterest.

After really taking the time to look through all these images, we have found that we are looking to create something quite surreal, to follow with the metaphor of the song. We really like the more pale colours and perhaps matched with some kind of harsh geometric design to replicate the contrasts within our music video.

After having created a mood board of images and typography, we had started to think about the main ideas for our digipak. Below you can see a poster of ideas that we were thinking about;

Project Meeting Agenda – Performance

Before we went out to shoot the performance aspect of our music video, we create a project meeting agenda, where we organised the specifics of our shoot. This turned out to be particularly useful because we hadn’t considered previously how we would use lighting within the studios, so this was a really useful document.
