Here is a music video made by a previous student. Using an assessment criteria, I will be able to identify what the video did really well and what I can do to improve my own music video.

I chose to analyze this music video since the genre and the type of narrative is similar to my own.

Three good features of the video

• The lighting in the narrative shots is intentionally disorientating to create discomfort and mystery throughout the music video.
• The location for the performance works well to create an isolated atmosphere.
• They use a good variety of shots to set the scene.

How can I Improve my music video?

• Use effects to make the lighting dimmer.
• Add some transitions between narrative shots.
• Use more close up shots of lip syncing.
• Establish a conclusion for the narrative.
