My Location shoot risk assessment and production meeting agenda (PMA)

These are my first drafts of my cover page, the cover page with the grey background was my original before any changes were made. The cover page with the black background is after making the changes given by a peer. These changes are:

• Changing the background colour from grey.
• Change the size of the barcode.
• Move website links etc to the top and move the image down to where the url was.
• I am going to change my font used so it is different from the masthead.
• Changed masthead font.
• Slightly changed the yellow to be more vibrant.

I hope the changes made can make the top of the magazine feel a little less empty and the black background will be stronger than the grey. I hope that more attention will be drawn to the relevant areas instead of the irrelevant areas such as the barcode.

My first draft of my front page before any feedback or changes have been made.

Changes I’m going to make:

I am making these changes based on peer feedback that was given to me.

In this shoot we used the production meeting agenda (PMA), to try and take the perfect photos for my music magazine. I have followed my PMA by using the correct equipment such as the flash kit and studio room. I have also used the correct clothing, props and directions.

These are my 6 favourite photo’s from the shoot: I think these are my strongest photos because they best represent my chosen genre and what I want my magazine to be.

These are some of the masthead designs that I have played around with in inDesign, the first 5 are all fonts straight from inDesign and the last 3 are all fonts that have been downloaded from Dafont. My favourite font for my magazine is Urban Jungle but when I finished my first draft I didn’t have this font available.

I think after looking at this meta narrative of Drake it will change the design of my star, I will need to make my star feel as if they are a real celebrity who gets interviews with these big magazine companies and who would have millions of followers.

This pinterest board shows the styles,pictures and colours used in other rap magazine’s. These examples are taken from real rap music magazine’s. These examples will be good to compare to my music magazine when I am making it to see how similar to real magazine’s mine is.

Potential Magazine names: Rap Urban, Rap Stream, Rap Loud, Rap Aspect and Rap Project

The mission of my magazine will be to deliver news about all rap to the audience, my magazine will be able to inform people about the culture and current news of rap. My magazine will be used to give publicity to less known artists in the genre, my magazine can even be used to introduce people who are new to rap to the genre.
