Mastheads are a very important feature as it is one of the first things that our audience will see. It is crucial to create a design that conveys the genre its trying to represent.
For this task I had to create my own Masthead designs and I chose a multitude of designs ranging from conventional and stereotypical punk designs all the way to more modern and trendy looking titles.
This is how they turned out!
Here are some fonts which I chose on Dafont.
I was aiming to go for the modern and digital pop punk style and I think that these represent a glitch effect which is like a glitch in the system or an outlier which represents the punk genre and its fans which is why I think it will be a good choice.
I think, for my final title , I will use either this one for a Da font font.
Or I will use This one for a normal font.
I aim to experiment more with the Da font and normal fonts and I will use in design to alter and change my fonts by adding effects and outlines.
Overall this was very useful for my magazine as without an appropriate and appealing masthead I cannot hope to appeal to my target audience and my mission statement and message may be lost in translation when the audience gets the wrong idea from a masthead.
