Mr Myrie is in Guernsey for Skipton International and they have kindly agree to offer lunch and a presentation at St Pierre Park Hotel.
This is a golden opportunity to hear the views of a senior BBC journalist on the state of the Media Ecology and we will be able to develop some questions for him to suit our needs for the exams in May.
You will need to make your own way to and from the venue and should arrive by 12.45 to register with your teacher and have a bite to eat. Students with dietary requirements should inform Mr Gregson – egregson@web.grammar.sch.gg
We will then be meeting Mr Myrie and listening to his view on a range of topics (your choice).
- The challenges to journalism in the face of social media
- Fake news, filter bubbles and echo chambers
- Changes to media distribution and globalisation
- Extremist groups and conspiracy theories
Questions / topics need to be emailed to Mr Gregson and Mrs Cobb by Wednesday 1st March
