Social Media Page Draft 1 & 2

With this draft of the social media page, a genral idea is produced which we can use to see any needed improvements.

Feedback from our teacher:

  • Include guerilla marketing
  • Make sure to build exitement prior to the ‘final release post’
  • Add content for the story feature
  • Men’s mental health charity shows a positive social conscience
  • Add cross-media convergence or synergy

As well as feedback from our teacher, self assessment is as nessecary for my group to create a successful social media page.

Using this document, it has been evidenced that there is an abscence in criteria which would help increase the awareness of the band and it’s products. In the lead up to finalizing the social media page, my group will need to add elements such as:

  • cross-media convergence
  • synergy
  • guerilla marketing
  • interaction with the audience
  • the sale of physical copies

Social Media Page – Timeline and Marketing Ideas

Making a timeline for a social media page creates assurance for the planning and execution of production, and also makes the process more efficient.

3 ideas from ‘Sanbox best music-marketing campaigns’ :

  • Guerilla marketing – often used in places with a large footfall, using unique ideas to encourage social interaction to increase awareness.
  • Synergy – collaborating with brands in order to generate more consumption of products. Potential brands which the band can collaborate with include; Fender, Yamaha and Vans.
  • Cross-media convergence – using different forms of media to increase awareness of a product. In our case, this can be through having the band’s music in podcasts, films, video games, etc.

Audience Interaction With A Social Media Page – An Analysis

Knowing how AIDA has been utilised in other social media pages will aid our production process and understanding what will attract our target audience. In our case, we analyzed the band that created the song ‘Jet’ which is used in our music video. By doing this, it reinforced the fact that AIDA is formed through the content and the chosen design. Moreover, a set of information, entertainment, social interaction and personal identity (Uses and Gratifications Theory) will achieve the attention and engagement of our target audience.

 

Social Media Page Terminology

Social media is such a greatly used media technology used currently, due to globalisation, and this is due to small features which allow the audience to interact with them to receive their entertainment. For me to be able to create an intriguing social media page, I need to conduct research on the technical conventions of an Instagram page of a band of our genre and to see what is necessary to attract our own target audience to enhance promotion.

As seen through the analysis, there are crucial technical conventions that assist the band in creating an identity from a star image and promoting live events. To make a proffesional standard social media page of a band in our genre, my group would need to take a swift approach with using software to alter images and create graphics in order to make production clean and efficient.
