Social Media Page Draft 2

After receiving feedback from our teacher, we began to work on the second draft of our music video. We addressed some key areas that we wanted to work onto to make our posts stronger and more engaging for the audience. We then made our final Social Media Page draft. Please click on the image or here to view it.

Changes that we made:

Reflection on Draft 2:

Overall, we are really happy with our Draft 2 of our Social Media Page. We think that it reflects our star image well and demonstrates the message behind her album. We think that our posts are successful and would be engaging for the audience. You can view a slideshow of our final social media page below or view the full page here.

Paige and I have completed our first draft of our Social Media Page. We are both really please with how it has worked, and we think that our ideas have worked out well. We made a variety of posts and comments on serious topics that we think that our artist would support and share on her personal media page.

Self Reflection:

We have included:

  • CONTENT: additional content e.g. our gifs, images of music video
  • SYNERGY:  links with other brands or products that would appeal to your audience e.g. Micellar
  • CROSS MEDIA CONVERGENCE: the star is creating converged links with other media or stars e.g. Little Mix
  • PROMOTION OF LIVE EVENTS: a tour or series of streamed (paid for) gigs / shows e.g. Live Stream
  • A CALL TO ACTION: a clear link to point of sale for the music/merchandise/concert tickets e.g. links
  • ORDINARY: an insight into the ‘real’ life of the star an opportunity to see them as an authentic person.
  • INTERACTION / ENGAGEMENT: the audience can interact with the star e.g. hashtags, posts, comments
  • ISSUES & CHARITIES: links to current political issues or charities close to the star’s heart is a useful way of developing a compassionate and engaged star image

What went well?

  • We have some really strong imagery and have created some good edits.
  • It is unique and stands out
  • The posts demonstrate her message throughout

Improvements?

  • Insert the link of her music video in the comments.
  • We are not 100% convinced on the 3 by 3 post at the end as we are not sure that it works that well.
Teacher Feedback:

We asked our teacher for some feedback on our social media page, and he said the following:

Audience interaction with a social media page – an analysis

Paige and I have made a screencasify of Comparative Analysis of a professional artists social media page. We chose again to look at Lizzo, an artist that has a similar genre of music o our artist, but also strongly believes in the same values as our artist does. We feel that this is important as her feelings are portrayed through her work and album art.

We analysed the album cover using AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire and call to Action) here are our thoughts on the Social media page.

Social Media Page Terminology

Here Paige and I have looked at Lizzo’s social media page, we have analysed some key terms and looked at how they bring attention, interest, desire, and call to action for the audience. We looked at what elements bring attention to the audience, what draws them in? In many cases this could be the photographic and text element that they post, for example the image of Lizzo sat by her own album cover. This is similar to what interests them, what makes them want to know more? For example the charity logo, what charity is she supporting and why, what is it that she is doing. They want to follow this up and maybe donate themselves. And then how they capture the desire of the audience, how they make them feel that they need to buy this album. For example through multiple posts, the chance to enter competitions, or by giving them snippets of the song and they can only listen to the full album after purchasing. Finally the call to action, how they make them being action by interacting with their music for example purchasing their album. This can be done with the shop now button or hyper links to their music video and songs on spotify.
