2nd Draft Front Page

This is my 2nd draft of my front page magazine. I think I have successfully added a lot of extra content compared to my 1st draft, to make it more engaging for my audience. I made sure to impliment some key features in my front page magazine, these include a coverline, barcode, pugs and extra content in my magazine to help ensure my audience is captivated. After comparing my 2nd draft to my 1st draft this will help me assess what I have improved for my magazine and how it will keep my audience more engaged.

what’s new?

  • I have used multiple different fonts to make eye catching for my audience.
  • I have made my main cover star look brighter in my magazine this will help to make him stand out.
  • I have used different colours for my fonts to make them stand out for my audience.
  • I have added some key features in my magazine like big stars of the hip-hop genre, this will help make my audience more inclined to carry on reading.
  • I have moved my cover star into a better position because before it wasn’t inline with the front page.

what’s next?

  • Use a slightly smaller image for my main cover star so I can fit more key information for my audience to make them more interested.
  • Use mainly one or two types of colour for my fonts as using more than that makes it look quite untidy.
  • make my main cover star less bright as he is seen as the main attraction I also want my key features on my front page to seem engaging for my audience.
  • Use less fonts and use two main ones as it won’t be clear for my front page where I want my audience to look to make them interested.

Reflection:

I’ve successfully used AIDA (attract, interest, desire, action) to help engage with my audience, for instance I helped attract my audience by how I styled my cover star, even down to the hand gesture to communicate the street culture of my genre. I also accentuated my cover star in a bright colour to make him stand out. I also used bright coloured fonts in a graffiti (street culture) style and a bright vibrant background to appeal and interest my audience. Implimenting particular fonts for my magazine will help me make my auidence connect on a sub-conscious level with the genre of the magazine and have a desire to carry on reading because they identify with it. This will therefore encourage my audience to take action, e.g. by buying and reading my magazine because they see it a a gateway to the culture they want to be part of.
