Digipack Final Draft

This is the final draft for my digipack. We have:

  • Changed the size of the horns to be more prominent and visible
  • Added two lines above and below the image on the cover page
  • These bars have the colours of the image flipped on one side to add some variety and to allow them to pop out more
  • Slightly changed the text and the formatting of the text in the shapes

Other than that we left change to a minimum as we felt it was mostly complete and only required some simple refinement to ensure it is the best it can be.

Social Media Draft One

This is the feedback we have been given on our first draft of our social media page by our teacher. She has raised many good points that will be taken into consideration whilst we create the second draft. Some of the most important points include:

  • Answer some more questions
  • Work up to the release of the album including the video
  • Try to use cross-media-convergence
  • Try to get some collaboration or merchandise

Targets for the second draft:

  • Ensure we have a call to action in some of our posts
  • Include more information on the posts about each band member
  • Tease the music video
  • Make more posts with more variety

Music Video Final Draft

This is the final draft of our music video.

For this draft we have reflected on the points made by our teacher in her screencastify of the third draft and, to improve it we have:

  • Increased pace of edit
  • Fixed the odd cut at 1:40
  • Split up the shots in the chorus
  • Fixed someone’s singing in audio but not in video
  • Reversed the dolly shot of drumming and use it again
  • Looped clip so you don’t see someone isnt singing

Overall I think that we have improved our music video a lot and that this is the best we could do with the footage we have.

Timeline and Marketing Ideas

A large part of modern marketing is now done via social media as it is an easy way to reach a lot of people through the internet. While doing this it is important to plan out your posts and think about how they will be recieved. It is important to think about how to make your posts attractive and interesting as well as sparking a desire to learn more and giving the audience a call to action to ensure your page follows AIDA. Many of the most successful marketing campaigns are examples of guerilla marketing which can involve the audience. An example of this is when Adele promoted her new album by projecting the number 30 onto multiple skyscrapers in big cities across the world. This went viral and was a great way of promoting and teasing the album.

To help prepare for making my social media page I have created a timeline of the posts I will be using to ensure that we make as good a social media page as I can that is both entertaining and informing for our audience.

The above google slide is a relflection that I have done that describes what is both positive and negative about my first draft. In doing this I practiced analysing my own work  and being critical as well as noting down what needs to be improved so it can be fixed by the time I create the second draft.

Some targets for me to have done for my second draft include:

  • Changing the front page to maybe have one of the two in black and white or even flipping the image
  • Creating and adding two middle pages and a spine
  • Possibly moving the song titles text to a different point

Digipack Photo Shoot Contact Sheet and Evaluation

We had a photoshoot for our digipack. We took photos that we had planned out to ensure that we got multiple angles and multiple different poses so that we had a variety of shots we could use for both our album cover and our social media page. I think that we got a good variety of shots that could be useful across both products.

In the future we will attempt to continue planning our shoots to ensure that we always get all the shots we need.
