Our Mission Statement- The Package Brand

In order to make sure our digipak meets the right requirement of reaching out to our target population and bringing our audience in we created a mission statement. On our mission statement we reminded ourselves on who our audience are so that we can appeal to them correctly. We then thought about how we want our audience to respond to the media, who the competiton are and then what makes our brand unique. From gathering all this data we were then able to complete a mission statement for our artist. This will help when making our digipak as we will be sure to include aspects which reinforce the star image and draw the target audience in.

Branding Moodboard

Made with Padlet
Shown above is my moodboard for my digipak, I developed this using padlet and collected ideas of conventional colour schemes, fonts, acting, costume, graphics/illustrations, props, star images and editing of other digipaks for my genre on Brit-pop. Collecting these ideas will help me when designing my digipack as I will have a clear idea on how to represent my genre best to draw in the target audience.

Teacher feedback- Screencastify

Here is my teachers feedback of the second draft of my music video, overall my teacher said that she liked the majority of our narrative shots but there is room for a lot of improvement in order to make the music video to the best of our ability.

Positives:

  • Good shots of toys in studio
  • The shots of putting the costume on are effective

Things which need improving:

  • More close ups of toys, and a more creative variety
  • More spaceman shots, with brighter lighting and make the spaceman clips appear earlier
  • Re-record performance and create more intimacy and movement, also try a better setting

Music Video Draft 2

Here is my groups second draft of our music video, as you can see we have successfully added more narrative to our video however there is a lot of room for improvement.

The things which went well were:

-Building skills on our editing

-Applying some of our narrative

-More varied shots

Our targets are:

-To film a lot more footage

-Change setting

-Use more varied camera angles

– Experiment with editing effects

Shoot 2 Reflection (Narrative)

For shoot 2 we decided to add our narrative in, our narrative consisted on our star playing with toys and reflecting back on the past, this is to adress the songs key theme of nostalgia. I believe that this shoot went well, our star was in character and we mananged to gather a wide variety of shots of him interracted with the toys to support the narrative of him looking back on the past. I think it could of been better if we picked a more interesting and vibrant setting to add more excitement, possibly outdoors. But we will take this into account for our third draft.

Design skills 1

During my time working on premiere pro I have developed many skills that will help me when it comes to editing my music video, these skills help to edit videos to convey meaning and help to portray narrative efficiently in the best possible way.

To begin with, I have become familiar and mastered using the razor tool, this tool helps cut videos to help order and cut footage down to the best parts. I have used it to split up footage to add different footage in and cut down unwanted footage. This impacts the narrative as it helps to cut down unwanted parts and add it wanted parts which come together to build the narrative in the most effective way. This will influence my product in my music video as I will be able to go back and forth from narrative to performance and give my audience what they expect to see from my chosen genre.

Secondly, I learnt how to add vibrancy to existing footage by using the temperature and tint tool, this helped to add vibrancy of colours to the footage and adds a high staturation which is often seen in a lot of music video. Vibrancy helps to catch the audeinces attention and keeps them interested.
