Narrative Sequence – Exploration

For this task we first made a story bored. This was a quick and easy way to depict our story in such a way that it was easy to understand and adapt.

In order to get an idea of what sort of thing to do when creating a narrative for a music video we created a short film in a small group. We used a tripod to get a variety of angles and to keep the shots steady. We used I believe this has helped us all understand how to use cameras to record, use the right angles, lighting, props and settings to create a good story that people will understand. It has also helped us in using the editing software we will need to use when making our music video later on in the year.

What went well…

  • Got a variety of good shots such as, a pan, a low angle, mid shot, mid-long shot, etc.
  • Most of the shots were in focus.
  • We didn’t let the shots hang for too long on the same shot, which makes it less boring to watch.

What we could have done better…

  • The pan could have been more steady, we maybe could have used a rolling chair to make it smoother.
  • We would have added a long shot and a higher angle shot.
