My Media Diet

Here is a collage of my media diet:

Reflection:

Blumler and Katz were trying to describe that ‘different people can use the same communication message for very different purposes’, this was their theory and it means that each audience member can state their own motives for their use of media and are aware of their numerous benefits.

Personal identity: I use Instagram everyday and it is part of my personal identity because it is a way to present what I’m doing in my life and also a way to interact with my friends and followers through my personal life and therefore identity, I can also keep entertained through people I’m following and their posts of my suggested photos and videos.

Entertainment: I use Netflix in my day to day life to keep entertained and keep up on the latest shows and movies which also ties in with social interaction as I can then go to my friends and interact with them about the things I am watching.

Information: Google is a big part of my daily life because I use it to find out information especially for school and sometimes at home as well. Google is a form of entertainment as you can access YouTube and other media through it as well as keep social interaction as you can access Gmail through it.

Social interaction: I use snapchat and most media platforms such as Tik Tok and even Spotify to interact socially, I do this through interacting with my friends and family about these forms of media, such as music, and then use this to find new songs, movies and ways to interact like Instagram.
