Media Ecology

Here is our class posters on different aspects of the media ecology:

Media ecology is the idea that Media is an environment. The government, money, creators, technology, audience, distributors, social media and institutions all rely on each other as a “symbiotic relationship”, which is the term used for an ecosystem, meaning that as long as all the factors in an “environment” successfully does their  role in this “life cycle” then all the factors can then benefit, however if not then this harmonious cycle will potentially pause.

  • How does money affect the quality of media?
  • How does technology change social interaction?
  • What effect does social media have on the audience?
