Introduction

Our group task today was to research an artist/band from the same genre as our music video and find any interviews they have done, any images of them online, tour posters, where they stream their music, what social media platforms they are on and so on, so we could get an overview into the typical behaviors, attitudes and overall aesthetic of electronic dance artists.

Reflection

After doing this task I managed to pick up on the sort of pattern I have been seeing with all dance electronic music artists. This is that they all seem to want to escape from the harsh cold realities and typical 9-5 working life. Gorillaz was an amazing example of them as they not only want their music to help people escape when they listen to it but they have also created their own almost phantasy character for their fans. As you can see on the Canva we made all images of them are animated characters even when they are filmed and interviewed they are still in their animated form. This relays this whole surreal and new reality that they have made to make up their whole image not only when they produce and make music do they feel free and in their own world but they have taken all their fans on this journey with them too. Most of the articles we found on the Gorillaz were only news on new releases and there is not much on any real personal information about them as individuals such as love life updates or personal affairs. Knowing this it has made me realize that they are mysterious as the want to build on the fantasy they have created for the fans so no one is to indulge into their personal life. They are solely wanting to promote there music and give people a good time just as they seem to enjoy themselves thoroughly too.
